Army of alts

Unlike the title says, I don’t actually have an army of alts. I currently have 3 accounts, and 5 characters. Of those 5 there’s 2 I use on a regular basis and the other 3 are used for things like trading or bearing.

The other day I decided that it was past time for me to start training my Amarr trade alt into something useful. I’ve always wanted to start into capital production. So I’m training him to be able to fly an occator, jump freighter and into capital construction.

I got myself 2 plex, and 3 injectors. Because I’m lazy and I wanted the occator train to be done sooner so I could start hauling some much needed stuff from Amarr to the wormhole.

My Jita trader can fly an occator too so if need be I can now do two at a time. Making myself a little more efficient. Or a little bit easier to kill due to sucking at dual boxing. Either works.

The first thing on my list is making myself a Nidhoggur, just because I like the ship.

One of my other goals is owning a Nyx sometime soon. Unfortunately I don’t have the ISK to afford a Nyx pilot or a Nyx itself. But it’s on my list too. Owning one has been on my list for ages.

Time to start making ISK again so I can do silly stuff like some in the Alliance do.

Job interviews aren’t as hard

Finding a corporation to join in EvE Online, is a pain in the ass. Or at least it is for me. Why? Because I want to find the best fit that I can have, and that means checking out a LOT of corporations and having a LOT of conversations and mailing go back and forth.

And even when you finally figure out that you want to join a certain one, someone else invites you to have a little conversation and you start thinking “Oh, wow these guys could be it too”.

One of usSource: Control Alt Delete comic

Not only that, but even if you then finally figure out which people you like best, you get interviewed by them too. This all made me think of a CAD comic from some time ago. It describes the process vs other MMO’s quite well. Even to the part of the blood sample, although I’m sure they were kidding about that one… *shifty eyes*

This was how I spent most of my day yesterday and the day before.

I made a post on the forums, stating that I was in need of a new corporation, new friends and what I was looking for.

Turns out, what I’m looking for is too general and that made sure that I was not only contacted by the kind that I was looking for, but also by people who did mostly mining.

I wondered where in my post I ever defined that I wanted to mine but turns out that some people define ‘Industry’ as mining. Who knew, I sure didn’t.

For those of you out there that do define this as mining, I get where you’re coming from, but it’s not, not really. My definition of industry as a whole would be the invention and/or manufacturing of the products, not really getting the raw material that you need to make them. Processing could work too but mining is just that, mining.

Anyhow, after two days of getting mails, having conversations etc etc, I finally decided to apply to one. I gave them my api key and am currently waiting to be accepted or denied.

I’m leaning towards the first, seeing as I don’t think I look like a spy, I’d probably suck at it anyhow.

If I do get accepted, I’ll be going back to Null sec, give them another shot, I really hope that this time will be different. What I talked about with the Corporation’s CEO was positive, even their public channel was active and fun so, fingers crossed.

I still have a wish to go to w-space though. So I decided that I’m going to have my alt join another corporation, one that one of my readers joined a while back and sounds like fun. The alt isn’t that well trained and still has a ways to go, but I’m sure I can have fun in w-space as well as null sec. Best of both worlds I guess/hope.

We’ll see what happens

The problem about having multiple characters across multiple accounts is that after a while, you forget where you were going with them, and have no idea what to train.

I currently have 4 characters I use on a regular basis, two of them are for manufacturing and two are combat. One of which is in Thera in a stealth bomber just because, and she’s been training for mastery of them for months. My other, is me, or my avatar. I train around in multiple combat ships so that I can be of use anywhere.

My problem now is that I have no idea what I should train my indy character for. I’m interested in capital production but will probably never get there and other than that I just create the same things, over and over again, she’s been maxed in that kind of production and invention so right now I’m wondering “What’s next”.

The fact that I’m wondering about it also means that maybe I don’t need a third account, and I should just ship her over to the other account with the stealth bomber and my other manufacturer. It’ll probably save me a few bucks a month, it’ll just cost me plex. Something I dislike to spend. Or 20 bucks.

I have 10 hours left to decide.

And in other news, I found a new wormhole corporation, I talked to them a bit and decided that they seemed like a fun bunch, as of the day before yesterday E’dyn is floating around in a wormhole again.

I spent my first few hours in it exploring again, going through a few holes, and scanning down a few others. The reaction time of my new corps mates is amazing. I scanned down a LS hole and when I jumped through it there was an Omen on the other side, I told them and a few seconds after we had 5 people around the hole. Too bad the omen jumped off, it would have been pretty awesome to have a kill in my first few hours.

But I’m sure other opportunities will arise. There’s plenty of time for that.
I just need to start moving more ships inside
