Everyone loves explosions

We do, even if you don’t want to be near one in real life, we all love looking at fire. It’s entrancing.

I blew up my first citadel the other day. Well, not just me, we had a fleet of course. But I did not see the explosion coming. I had no idea about it, and it was amazing.

I’ll just let you see for yourself in the few screenshots I made.

I did lose another hound this weekend. I need to stop flying squishy ships, which is why I bought an Omen and a Gila and brought them inside the wormhole. I have a bunch of other ships on my “Get them inside” list but I need to start earning ISK again because I only see my total dropping.

The fact that PLEX prices are way down since last time is not helping at all. I have 11 PLEX parked in Jita that I bought when they were at 1.2b a pop. So that’s currently little over 3b loss just on those. Maybe I should use them to get extractors instead. I heard that they are a nice moneymaker. But that’s for another post.

Woops

It seems that I should have been paying more attention to what was going on in the wake of citadels coming around etc.

A few months ago I had decided that it would be a good idea to put my ISK into PLEX because they seemed the most stable at the time and I figured their price would more than likely get higher at some point in the future.

Well, I guess I was wrong. After spending the last few weeks abroad I came home the other day and was able to log in, only to see that due to the fall of PLEX, my current worth has dropped around 4b.

Now, it’s not that much but still, I’m a hoarder, I like seeing my ISK rise instead of drop, so it does hurt a little bit.

But I’ll survive, I have told myself countless times that I should not be sitting on my ISK piles like that and should do something with them.

A few months ago my plan was to make a citadel of my own with it, but that got scratched when we were evicted out of our wormhole.

Which reminds me. I need to get back into a wormhole.

What’s this

I noticed something new when I logged in the other day. Some kind of achievement system.

I’m not yet sure what exactly the use of this is, but I’m guessing it has something to do with the Aura revamp that I’ve heard about.

Other than me noticing something that may or may not be new, I also spend a lot of ISK on my manufacturing again as wel as on PLEX.

Seeing that soon two of my accounts will be running out I’ll be using PLEX to start paying for my eve time. Seeing as this was always one of my goals when playing the game. A goal that I never went for because I also liked seeing ISK. Silly me. Have to admit, that my eyes went a little big bigger when I noticed the current price for PLEX. If I were to sell the ones I have now I’d have a LOT of profit, but I kind of need them too. A sword that cuts on both halves.

I’ve been thinking about the wormhole I was in for way too much too. Time to go search again, I really want to go wormholing again. Maybe I should just find a C2 to settle in if nobody will have me.

Effort vs reward

Despite not logging in to the game for more than an hour per week in the past couple of weeks, I’m still making a profit ISK wise. Which is always a nice thing to see. It’s not much but it’s enough to keep me happy. Especially if you consider how little time I spent setting up the orders for this.

Some people enjoy looking at the market and deciding what goods they need to buy and sell in order to make a pretty big profit. I on the other hand, am one of those guys that would like to see more isk, by doing as little as I possibly can.

Due to this I will never be super rich, but will more than likely have enough isk to do whatever I’d like to be doing at the time. 

Two months ago I put up about 10 different buy orders, some for PLEX, others for Datacores. At the time I bought about 15 PLEX, which I sold last week at a “profit” of 100million each. Which is not bad at all considering I’m not spending that much time in game.

Same for the datacores, buying them at around 15k and selling those for around 25k also made a nice little profit. All of this took me just a few clicks in game and a few weeks of waiting out of it.

This just goes to show that if you have the patience to wait, you can make a nice profit on the EvE market. Unfortunately not many people have that, most want a quick turnaround.

I guess the fact that I’m still looking for people to play the game with has its advantages: It takes me longer to put things on the market and most of the products I bought a few months ago are currently more expensive.

I do admit, that if you start out, the market can seem strange, and you do need a bit of ISK to get started. Years ago when I first started, I wanted ISK fast, and the fastest way to do this was buy a game time card and sell it. 
I’ve done it before, if I had to I’d probably do it again. 
The time it would take someone just starting out, to earn that amount of ISK, is too high. While it only takes me about an hour at work. 

At that time, and now I look at it as a win-win. Because not many people like grinding for hours on end just to get enough money for a ship. And I’m one of those people too.

Like I said earlier, I’m kind of lazy.

Investments for the future

I thought it high time to start using a bit more of my ISK. So I decided to put up a few buy orders on PLEX’ and Implants.

The PLEX is mostly because the last few weeks I’ve been thinking of cutting back to using two accounts instead of three, but I still want to use all my characters. I have one account that only has 1 important character on it, and one account with two of them.

So I’m going to be moving the characters around a bit.

Come to think of it, I was going to move the 2 characters, but I should probably just move the one.. Silly me.

I’ll have to check how long the accounts are still paid for but I’m guessing one of the two will end soonish and once that happens I need to figure out how to work this.

It’s a bit silly, it would be cheaper for me to move one character, but I’m kind of attached to the account name.

Anyone else had issues with something like this?

Crius release, thoughts so far

Crius was released a few days ago, and I’m loving it. The industry revamp, especially how they upgraded working with a POS is just great.

I’m sure there are people out there that might complain about the fact that their precious BPO’s now need to be inside of the POS. But I, as an inventor and T2 manufacturer, can’t be happier.

I can start my invention runs with a click of a button from my home base instead of having to go to my POS and be within 2500m of the lab. Not only that, but I can do it even when I’m 15 jumps away. 

Next to this, it’s just one click to turn on one invention run. For those who worked invention or manufacturing jobs, they know that this was a pain in the ass.

In the past you needed to decide which line you would put the job on, after which you pressed a button, using said line. Once you clicked, you had to click again to grab the blueprint, click ok once more another ok, and only then you could start the job.

That’s 5 clicks for one job. You can imagine how much of a pain it was if you had about 20 or 30 invention lines running, each day.

Luckily, that’s now in the past, I can start one job with two clicks, one to decide the blueprint, one to start. It’s a lot faster than before, and I can all do it from station, so easier at that. I will happily take the cost of the installation for that.

“You mean, I need less materials? Sweet!”

The fact that I can even install jobs remotely from a dozen or more jumps away, means that I can use my trading alt too. Of whom I found out that he has the necessary skills to do my invention and manufacturing runs too. Guess it’s a good thing I checked my skills on him.

The only thing that was missing was the ability to install them remotely so I did the most obvious thing to do… I bought a PLEX from the market (through a sell order, shame on me!) and activated second character training.

My trader now has a month of training activated for him, which I will use to train him a bit further into retail and allow him to activate remote jobs.

I’m still figuring out the bonuses that my POS can have, and what it does (as far as I’m aware they’ll just reduce the installation cost) but for now, I’m really happy what Crius has offered me as an industrialist.

Another milestone with PLEX

PLEX in EvE makes the virtual world go round. You can use it if you’re strapped for cash, by buying some with your Dollars, Euros, Yen, …Whatever it is you use, and then sell it on the market for ISK. 
The ISK worth of it right now is 710million, give or take a few.
If you have the ISK for it, you can use it to pay for your subscription, one PLEX being the equivalent of 30 days of game time. 
You can even buy them and just put them someplace until they’re worth more than they are currently. Which is something that a lot of people have been doing since they just keep going up. I myself am guilty of this too.
PLEX has other uses, there’s the Aura store that I know absolutely nothing about. There’s the dual training that’s rather new. 
And since a few days you can also buy the collector’s edition with PLEX…
I’m sure I left out a few things but there’s not many other games that allow you to use in game currency to buy things like this.
Which makes me come to my little milestone. For the first time in my EvE carrier I have used a PLEX to prolong my game time. 
I’m pretty proud of myself. Not only have I used my ISK, I have stepped away from me not wanting to use said ISK on something for myself.
