You win some, you lose some

The past week was a good one for us. We killed a bunch of people, harvested tears of those we killed and had fun in general. I enjoy this corporation because it’s the first time I actually like getting on TeamSpeak to talk to these guys and to form fleets with. The fact that my killboard stays in green most of the time is an added benefit.

The last 7 days started with our decision to go out and do more wormhole stuff instead of just dunking people through our nullsec. So the first thing we did when finding a citadel with a timer in our time zone was to park a scout in that hole and make sure people knew we’d go out to try and reinforce it when the time was there.

In the meantime we scanned our chain more than we usually did and found a few targets to kill. People rolling holes, people ratting in their hole with Domi’s and not having a scout on the hole.

One of the nights we had La Division Blue in our chain, they had two Myrmiddons parked on a hole and we knew they would have a fleet parked somewhere else. Because supposedly that’s what they do. We shipped into our T3 fleet and had an Armageddon go engage. They started to kill him so we jumped into the hole too to go and help him out, only to have a dozen remote-repping Stratios’ de-cloak on the other side. Time for a little fight. We had about 3 guardians with us and then the rest of the fleet. We did pretty well, keeping up the reps, they weren’t able to break us and we broke them slowly. But unfortunately they disengaged and fled with their tail between their legs. But they did lose one of the Myrmiddons so there’s that. It wasn’t a fight to the death but we did learn that our fleet composition was pretty solid so that was a good thing.

On the night of the citadel timer we went into our T3 fleet, Legions, Lokis, Tengus, Proteus’ and Guardians. All in all a very nice fleet. I was one of the guardians because I can’t fly the HAM Legion just yet.

Repping train, choochoo

We started the bash and before you know it two Thanatos’ and a Ninazu land on grid. We obviously decided that this would be our new target. So we switched, and because we’re nice people we told our alliance we had a few carriers tackled and asked if they wanted to come whore on it.

Cue a “battle” in which we repaired the enemies, our own pilots AND kept shooting a citadel, only so that our friends could come whore on the kills.
Unfortunately I couldn’t whore on them myself because my drones got bombed by the citadel. I should have waited with taking them out until the fight was almost done but I was too eager.

Not only did we kill them and reinforce the citadel. But in the meantime the alliance was suiciding a few T3’s on a citadel to keep that timer from running out. It needed to be killed too.
So as soon as we were done it was time to move towards the other operation. It was funny to see the timer stuck on 2second. And in the end we killed an Astrahus which dropped a few nice ships. Albeit with bad fits.

Who doesn’t love explosions

Unfortunately, all streaks come to an end and that’s what happened yesterday.

We decided on a new sort of fleet. Stratios’ + Legions to go wormhole diving. Due to me liking the legion but not having bought one yet, I decided to buy it. Only to lose it half an hour later. I have to admit that it stung. I lost that ship due to stupidity and it shouldn’t have died. But that’s life in EvE, you win some, you lose some. And with every loss, you learn something new. Luckily some of my salt washed away little under an hour later when we killed a few Gilas. They were badly fitted but still, a kill is a kill.

Goodbye little Legion, I hardly knew you

Bombs away

Tuesday night marked the third night that I joined Bombers Bar in an fleet. As you can probably tell, three days right after each other means that I’m enjoying them.

And how… Waiting for a kill can test your patience, but luckily the comms, both on their teamspeak and in fleet chat, are hilarious.
People talking, sending youtube videos, gifs,… It’s all good fun, a bunch of like minded people coming together for blingy kills and a chance to deliver torpedoes and/or bombs.

I like the fact that all of the people joining in fleet, lay down their differences (if there are any) and just kill everything that’s not purple, or at least try to. There were a few Ishtars that were both too fast and too tanky for us to take down.

The night went off to a slow start, we were waiting on a wormhole in Thera for the FC telling us that he had a target so that we could all warp to the wormhole, jump through, and take the black ops cyno that would be lit.

It took about an hour but right when we were planning on packing up, one of the scouts found a Nidhoggur, my third big kill in as many days and my second carrier ever. Which was pretty sweet.

Once we were done hunting ‘whales’ we went on to the system known as HED-GP, little did I know, but there was a pretty big battle on the way. The FC miss-timed it a bit, thinking that we had about 20 minutes for the reinforcement timer to run out, turned out it was more around an hour and 20 minutes.
So we went to a few safes, I grabbed some coffee, something to eat and waited for whatever it was that we were going to be doing, to start.

I was told that HERO (whoever that may be) and PL (I had heard about them before but only had a vague recognition) were going to have a fight over the station and we were going to bomb them.

I had no idea what that meant or who they were exactly but if it meant dropping bombs, I was all for it.
About 20 minutes before the timer went out local went from the 60 odd people (of which most were the BB fleet) to 150, and a bit later spiking even higher to 250.. Which according to the people on voice was only the beginning (yay).

I had turned on a stream on twitch showing the station and there was a fleet on the undock, while watching a bunch of bombers (apparantly goons) unstealthed and dropped bombs on them but I don’t think they hit much. We weren’t moving, we were going to go after the bigger targets.

“Oh look, I think it started!”

Once the fight started I listened to what we were told, listen to squad colors, warp to the leaders, etc etc..

I dropped three bombs in total, of which one hit (woops) .. They were telling us to allign to a certain target but inexperienced as I was I had no idea where it was so I just dropped my first and second bombs wherever and they kind of missed everything. How that even happened, I have no idea since it was pretty damn packed there.

“Bomb dropped, warp away, warp away!”

That was my third night in a Bombers Bar fleet, the third night in a row that I went to bed way past the hour that I should have gone in seeing as I had to go to work. But it was fun..

I’ll definately be doing a lot more of these, I love me some bombers.

note:
I had my first loss in a bomber last night, out on a roam with 16 people and we got baited. Guess that had to happen eventually, wouldn’t be right if my character kept having a clean killboard. No kills yesterday but did learn that I should make sure that I should just warp away when a fellow member decloaks me by accident.

First time Null and some more industry

It finally happened, I have joined a corporation in Null sec. After thinking about it for a few weeks, I decided to join a friend in Null sec. I joined Thursday, but due to real life I only had my first real interaction with Null yesterday evening. And I have to admit, it was quite fun.

I’m not that good of a PvP’er, not even close, and I’ve only done a few roams through low sec, only killing a few ships before. That changed last night, as I went out on a roam with the Nullsec corporation I joined and my friend as FC. They were all in interdictors, I was the only one in a T1 frig.
The roam started great, only two jumps from our start base we came across a Talos, didn’t take too long for it to get killed and I actually had the final blow. What a surprise there, and it gave me a smile on my face. Operation success, seeing that I didn’t think I’d be doing much.
It was rather quiet for most of the evening, we didn’t think we’d be finding anything anymore until the comms started talking about a Tengu. One of our scouts found him and was trying to kite him, making sure that we could get there to kill it. It took a while but we did it, we killed a Tengu. Not only did I have my first null sec roam, it also made my killboard total go up with quite a bit, having a total of 1.34b extra in kills. Yay!
After finishing the roam I logged into my industry alt, only to notice that most of my manufacturing jobs were done. As is my habit, I had nothing in stock to put new ones up so I went to Jita to buy some of the T1 products I need in order to make them into T2’s. As I get there and check the market I noticed that there were only 8 of the T1’s in stock, and I needed 800 of them. Cue cursing from my end.
Figuring that I’ll be needing a lot more in the future, I just bought 500m in material and let a friend ship them to the POS in his Charon (I owe him, he’s been my pet hauler for quite a bit).
I now have a few hundred of T1 products cooking in my labs, and today or tomorrow I’ll have to start writing down a bit again. Because chances are, that I’ve forgotten to get a whole bunch of products again.
My spreadsheet-fu is seriously lacking here.
