Start of the EVE Summer, battling heat and logistics

It’s a hot first of July here in Europe, so what better way to spend it by being behind my computer while the Airconditioning Unit is trying it’s best to keep the temperature in the office at an ok level.

The past few weeks have not been very busy on the EVE front, partly because I’ve been busy with IRL stuff.

But most things are done until around September so I can concentrate on gaming, and blogging once again.

But that does not mean that the EVE life was at a standstill, not at all.

Our little wormhole corporation is growing, we have a lot of new blood that have joined us over the past week and a half. Expanding both our member base and time zone presence. Which is quite nice, but it does bring in some logistic challenges.

A truth that is universally acknowledged is the fact that in general, people are lazy.
This is also true for those of us that play EVE Online. We want ease of access, we want things to be there for us to grab when we need them. Meaning, that someone needs to make sure that there is an actual supply of things.

In the case of wormhole corporations that’s usually the officers doing it, or someone that wants to make a little bit of extra ISK by providing ships on contract for a little markup and doesn’t mind hauling from time to time.
Unfortunately, due to the fact that we don’t have hundreds of members, that means as officers, it’s us doing it.

Which means that we’re risking corp ISK when we inevitably get ganked. Which obviously happened to me not too long ago.

Providing doctrine ships at a reasonable price, making sure that SRP can be done when fleets get a bit too dangerous etc etc. All on our little list of things we have to think of. Couple that with the fact that you’re also looked at as a content provider, you definitely know what you need to do.

Despite all of these things that seem like a hassle, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I did my nullsec stints, I lived in highsec for ages when I first started the game, I tried lowsec and didn’t understand what was going on.

Nothing compares to wormholes and the camaraderie you get, knowing that if someone comes to kick your sandcastle, you’ll lose everything in it.

With the new guys coming in to complement us old guys, I’m curious to what the next few weeks will bring.

We all know that EVE tends to get a “summer break” as well, but I truly hope that with how many new people, we won’t feel it as much.

I wouldn’t know what else to do to keep myself entertained

Stay tuned o7
